A Heartwarming Yukata Experience in Nagasaki 🌸

Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming a father and his 7-year-old daughter from the United States. The father wished for his daughter to experience wearing a yukata, Japan’s traditional summer kimono.

Thanks to the kind support of Nagasaki Kimono Project, located near the charming Dutch Slope (Oranda-zaka), we were able to make this special experience come true.

After dressing in her beautiful yukata, we visited No. 13 Minamiyamate House, a Western-style building that evokes the atmosphere of Nagasaki during Japan’s isolation period in the 1800s. As we took photos there, the little girl looked absolutely adorable, and her father’s face was filled with pure joy as he watched her.

Moments like this remind me how precious cultural experiences can be. The yukata is not just a traditional garment — it’s a bridge that connects people across cultures and generations, creating beautiful memories that last a lifetime.

If you visit Nagasaki, I truly recommend trying a yukata or kimono experience. It’s a wonderful way to feel the elegance and history of Japanese culture.
