Planning Private Shore Excursions Across Multiple Japan Cruise Ports
Visiting several ports on a Japan cruise? Plan private shore excursions in Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kochi and Shimizu with one team and a comfortable pace.
A Japan cruise offers the pleasure of waking up to a different destination each day. Planning those days ashore, however, can mean researching separate operators, checking meeting points and explaining the same preferences again and again. Discussing several ports with one team makes it easier to see the whole journey—and to plan sightseeing that feels enjoyable throughout your cruise.
Start with your complete cruise itinerary
Gather your ship's name, the date of each port call, scheduled arrival and departure times, and the number of guests. Your ship's all-aboard time is especially important. If some details are not yet available, let us know and share updates when your cruise line provides them.
Looking at several port calls together also helps you balance your days. You might want an in-depth historical visit in one port, followed by a gentler day of scenery in the next. Planning around your interests and energy across the journey can be just as valuable as planning each individual excursion.
Five ports, five different experiences
In Nagasaki, explore places connected with peace and a city shaped by international exchange. In Kagoshima, choose among Sakurajima's volcanic scenery, Sengan-en and Chiran according to your interests. Hiroshima offers Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima, while Kochi introduces places such as Katsurahama, Chikurinji Temple, Kochi Castle and Hirome Market. From Shimizu, discover Mt. Fuji landscapes, Shiraito Falls and the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre.
Each destination brings a different perspective on Japan. Tell us what you are most looking forward to, so that we can help you avoid a sequence of very similar visits. Some highlights, including clear views of Mt. Fuji, depend on the weather; understanding this beforehand helps you approach the day with realistic expectations.
Share your walking preferences across the trip
We offer private car and tram tours in Nagasaki. In Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kochi and Shimizu, our tours use private vehicles. Travelling by car can reduce the effort of getting between sights, although gardens, museums and places such as Miyajima still involve walking.
If you use a cane or wheelchair, prefer to avoid stairs or need regular breaks, please mention this when you first contact us. For a wheelchair, let us know its size and whether it folds. We can use these details when planning arrangements in each port, while taking account of the conditions at individual attractions.
One point of contact, with local guides in each port
When you discuss several excursions with Nagasaki Private Tours, you can share your itinerary and preferences with one team. Your tours are led by local teams in each destination; the same guide does not accompany you throughout the cruise. Each local guide helps you discover the particular character of that port.
After booking, check the starting time, meeting arrangements and contact details for each excursion. If your ship's schedule or group size changes, tell us which reservations are affected so that we can review the necessary arrangements.
What to check when booking several ports
Our multi-port booking option allows you to select eligible tours in two to five destinations together. Eligible bookings receive a 5% discount for two ports, 10% for three, 15% for four and 20% for five. Check the booking screen for current availability, eligible tours, prices and applicable conditions.
Even when you book excursions together, review what each tour includes and its cancellation terms. Send us your cruise itinerary and the ports you would like to explore. For the destinations we serve, we will help you plan private shore excursions with the whole journey in mind.
